Two complete readings of your paper to
- Correct any errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Do some minor rewording as needed for clarity
- Ensure that your paper meets style guidelines for in-text citations, footnotes or endnotes, numbers, capitalization, hyphenation, and use and formatting of block quotes
- Make minor corrections to your already formatted reference list or bibliography
Standard Editing: 2.3¢/word
Three complete readings of your paper to
- Correct any errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Ensure that your paper meets style guidelines for in-text citations, footnotes or endnotes, numbers, capitalization, hyphenation, and use and formatting of block quotes
- Look at sentence and paragraph structure and reword as needed for clarity
- Check the in-text citations against the reference list (or, if your paper uses footnotes or endnotes, check the notes against the bibliography)
- Format the reference list or bibliography as needed
- Format and check consistent use of chapter numbers and titles, major headings, and subheadings
Heavy Editing: 3.4¢/word
Three complete readings of your paper to
- Correct any errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Ensure that your paper meets style guidelines for in-text citations, footnotes or endnotes, numbers, capitalization, hyphenation, and use and formatting of block quotes
- Look at sentence and paragraph structure and reword as needed for clarity
- Check the in-text citations against the reference list (or, if your paper uses footnotes or endnotes, check the notes against the bibliography)
- Ensure consistency in numbering of tables and figures
- Check in-text references to tables and figures for accuracy
- Format table titles and figure captions
- Format the reference list or bibliography as needed, to include double-checking accuracy of URLs or DOIs
- Format and check consistent use of chapter numbers and titles, major headings, and subheadings
- Examine the overall organization and development and suggest areas needing expansion, reduction, or other major revision
